Ingredients
- Syrup:
- 8 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons mixed pickling spice
- 5 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups white vinegar

Preparation
Step 1
Wash whole cukes & peel silverskin onions. Put in crock. Pour fresh boiling water over cukes & onions for 4 days. On day 5 cut cukes to desired size. Pour syrup over cukes & let set for 2 days. Drain off syrup & reheat. Pack pickles in jars & pour hot syrup over them. Seal.
For my batch that made 20 pints I needed 2 batches of syrup.
