Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup molassas
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix together the first 4 ingredients until well blended
2. Dissolve the baking soda in the milk and add to the above.
3. Blend in the dry ingerdients.
4. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a baking sheet allowing room to spread.
5. Bake at 400 for 12 - 15 minutes.
