Dutch Oven Beef

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean chuck, cut in 2-inch cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • Dash pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomatoes, undrained

Preparation

Step 1

In hot oil in Dutch oven, saute beef cubes until browned all over.

Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms; cook 2 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients, mixing well; simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours, or until beef is tender. Serve over noodles or rice.
