Chocolate caramel bars
- 1 - 18 ½ oz. pkg German chocolate cake mix
- ½ c. butter melted
- 1/3 c, evaporated milk
- 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
- 50 caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and evaporated milk; mix well. If too dry and crumbly add up to ¼ c. more melted butter. Pat 2/3 of mixture in buttered 9x13 pan. Bake about 6 minutes.
While crust is baking, melt caramels with milk. Stir until blended.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked layer.
Pour caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Drop remaining batter on top by teaspoonfuls.
Bake 15-20 minutes.
