Pressure Cooker Honey Chicken Wing Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 2 Tbs. sesame oil
  • 12 chicken wings, cut apart at joints
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 Tbs. honey, divided
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs. sherry
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 tsp. grated ginger root or 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Preparation

Step 1

In a pressure cooker, heat oils, add chicken, and saute, turning to brown on all sides. Using tongs, remove chicken and set aside. Combine chicken broth, 1/2 cup honey, soy sauce, sherry, garlic, pepper flakes, and ginger root in pressure cooker; stir well. Place chicken wings in sauce and gently mix to coat. Secure lid. Over high heat, develope steam to medium high pressure. Reduce heat to maintain pressure and cook 3 minutes.

Release pressure and remove lid. Stir chicken and sauce. Preheat broiler. Place chicken wings on broier pan. Combine 1/4 of sauce, sesame seeds, and remaining honey. Brush mixture over chicken wings. Broil until golden on one side, turn, brush with sauce, and broil other side until golden. Serve hot or cold.
