Strawberry Shortcake Coffeecake

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup buttermilk/sour milk

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients. Blend in shortening til crumbly. Mix in buttermilk until wet. Spread in 8x8 square pan and bake at 400°F for 20-30 minutes.
Use broiler to brown the top if needed.
