Ingredients
- 1 small butternut squash (about 2 lbs)
- 2 Granny Smith spples
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp unbleached flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp cold margarine
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Oil a 2-quart baking dish.
Peel, seed and cut the squash into small pieces. Peel, core and cut the apples into thin slices. Toss the squash and apples together in the prepared baking dish.
Combine the brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut in the margarine, with a fork or pastry cutter until crumbly. Sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the squash and apples.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the squash is tender.
