Ingredients
- OR:
- 4 lbs. spareribs or 3 lbs. country-style ribs, cut into serving pieces
- 1 (18 oz.) bottle barbecue sauce
- May add 1/2 cup honey for honey barbecued ribs
- May add 1 onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
Step 1
No need to cook ribs, if they are lean. If they are fatter than you like, parboil them in water before placing in the cooker to cook off some of the grease. You may also brown the ribs in 2 tablespoons of oil.
Pour a little sauce into the bottom of the cooker. Put in a layer of ribs, meat side up. Cover with sauce. Continue layering until all ribs are in the cooker. Submerge them as much as possible in the sauce.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
