Ingredients
- 3/4 c. Shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves

Step 1
Cream together first 4 ingredients until fluffy.
Sift together dry ingredients, stir into molasses mixture. Form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 oven about 10 minutes. Cool slightly, remove from pan.
