Basic Vinaigrette Recipe

This simple oil & vinegar salad dressing, which is also called a basic vinaigrette or basic French dressing, can be mixed up in a flash. It uses the standard 3:1 vinaigrette ratio, meaning 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup salad oil (see note)
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- Kosher salt and ground white pepper (or freshly ground black pepper), to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix for about 10 seconds or until fully combined.
Transfer to a glass bowl and let stand for 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Give the dressing a good whisk immediately before serving.
