Ingredients

Blend together: 1 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. lemon extract or grated lemon rind
2 c. sugar
Beat in: 2 eggs, unbeaten
4 Tbs. milk
Stir in: 4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda

Step 1

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheet. Grease bottom of a glass. Dip glass in sugar and flatten each cookie. Sprinkle cookies with nutmeg. Bake at 400º for 8 to 10 minutes, till light golden.
