Ingredients
- 3 large onions (approx 2 lbs.) thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 5 cups boiling water
- 1 T chicken bouillon granules
- 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
- 1/2 tsp salt
- dast of pepper
- 1 T sugar
- 1/2 tsp browning and seasoning sauce
- 6 (3/4 inch thick) slices French bread, toasted
- 6 (4 x 1/8") slices Swiss cheese
Preparation
Step 1
seperate onions into rings, saute in butter in a Dutch oven until tender. Add water, combine bouillon granules, salt, pepper & sugar. Stir in browning sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered 1 hour. Place in 6 individual serving bowls.
