Onion Soup ~ easy

Ingredients

  • 3 large onions (approx 2 lbs.) thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 5 cups boiling water
  • 1 T chicken bouillon granules
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • dast of pepper
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1/2 tsp browning and seasoning sauce
  • 6 (3/4 inch thick) slices French bread, toasted
  • 6 (4 x 1/8") slices Swiss cheese

Preparation

Step 1

seperate onions into rings, saute in butter in a Dutch oven until tender. Add water, combine bouillon granules, salt, pepper & sugar. Stir in browning sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered 1 hour. Place in 6 individual serving bowls.
