Ingredients
- 5 or 6 med. potatoes
- 3/4 to 1 lb. thin sliced bacon
- 1 sliced onion (optional)
- 3/4 cup shaved Gruyere cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp thyme
- 1 1/2 C cooked shredded chicken
- 1 TBS minced garlic
Preparation
Step 1
Line bottom and up sides of iron skillet with bacon strips. Layer sliced potatoes and a layer of sliced onion and thyme.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese then layer of shredded Gruyere cheese followed by a layer of chicken. Repeat this three times with potatoes on top. Salt and pepper to taste.
Put on stove on high heat for about 10 minutes if using iron skillet. Then cover and bake 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes, then drain drippings and loosen edges and serve.
If not using an iron skillet don't cook as long on stove. Remove from oven and flip out on plate as you would an upside down cake.
