Ingredients
- 5 lb. potatoes, pared and quartered
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. (3-oz. each) cream cheese with chives, cubed
- 4 Tbs. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. cream
- 2 Tbs. butter
- Paprika
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the potatoes with 1 tsp. salt, about 30 minutes. Drain. Mash and add the cream cheese and 4 Tbs. butter, garlic salt, pepper and 1 tsp. salt. Mix until smooth. Gradually add the heavy cream, mixing until smooth after each addition. Turn mixture into a greased 13 x 9" baking dish. Bake at once or cover with foil and freeze. Dot top with 2 Tbs. butter and paprika before baking.
Bake at 325ºfor 30 minutes. Then bake at 375° for another 30 minutes or until hot (probably not that long).
