Pan Seared Tofu with Ginger Lime Glaze

  • 1 lb fresh firm tofu, not silken
  • 2 Tbs EVOO
  • 1 Tbs grated fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbs tamari
  • 2 Tbs lime juice
  • 2 Tbs maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Slice tofu into cubes. Heat saute pan over med heat. Add olive oil and ginger and saute 1 min. In sm bowl whisk tamari, lime juice and maple syrup. Place tofu in skillet and tamari mixture. Saute 3-4 min per side. If pan gets dry, deglaze with 2 tbs water and continue. For a thicker glaze, deglaze pan with a second mixture of oil, ginger, tamari, lime and maple syrup. Remove from heat and serve.

A nonstick, surface prevents glazing. Use stainless steel or cast iron.
