  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted


Servings 8


Step 1

Cook and stir onion in butter in a 3-quart saucepan over Medium heat until onion is tender. Stir in chicken broth and rice. Heat to boiling, then add salt, stirring once or twice. Cover and simmer 16 minutes (Do not lift lid or stir); remove from heat. Stir in almonds. Cover and let steam 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
