Ingredients

  • 3 C. all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

  • 1 C. warm water

  • 1 Tbsp softened butter

  • Toppings:

  • 3 Tbsp water

  • 2 Tbsp sugar

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • kosher salt

Directions

1) Preheat oven to 400*. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, water and butter; Beat until smooth. Sprinkle with 1-2 Tbsp water if dough is too stiff. Cover and let rest in a warm place, about 30 min. 2) Punch dough down. Turn onto a slightly greased surface; divide into six pieces. Roll each piece into a 24in rope. 3) For topping combine water, sugar, and baking soda in a shallow bowl. shape each rope into a pretzel and dip into baking solution. sprinkle with coarse salt. 4) Place on parchment-lined baking sheet at 400* for 12-15 minutes and then brush with melted butter.
