Ingredients
- 1/4 ¼ cup oil
- 3 pounds stew meat or roast cut into 1 inch cubes
- 3 gloves garlic, chopped
- 4 to 6 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons liquid red pepper
- 1 1/2 1 ½ quarts water
- 1/3 cup white cornmeal

Step 1
Heat oil, add beef and brown. Add garlic, chili powder, salt, oregano, cumin, liquid pepper and water. Stir, bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat, simmer 1 ¼ hours. Add cornmeal and mix well. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes.
