Cherry Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp. all purpose flour, divided
  • 6 cups pitted fresh cherries
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine sugar and 3 tbsp. flour. Add cherries, tossing gently to coat. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.

3. In a medium bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, and remaining 1/4 cup flour. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in almonds. Sprinkle evenly over cherry mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until brown. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
