Ingredients
- Basic Flaky Piecrust, prebaked
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cut up
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup shaved chocolate
Preparation
Step 1
1. Whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, and salt in a large saucepan. Cook over medium, whisking until thickened, 7-8 minutes.
2. Whisk in chocolate and butter. Pour into piecrust. Chill until firm, 4-5 hours.
3. Before serving, whip heavy cream; top pie with cream and shaved chocolate.
