Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 10 oz. lasagne noodles
  • 3 c. cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced very thin
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat and onion slowly; spoon off excess fat. Add salt, tomatoes, tomato paste and 1 cup water. Simmer covered 15 minutes; stir often. Cook noodles in boiling salted water till tender; drain and rinse. Layer half the noodles in ungreased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Add half the cottage cheese, Mozzarella cheese and half the meat sauce. Repeat. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350°.
