Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup evaporated fat-free milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preparation
Step 1
For the Cake:
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and beat until very fluffy. Stir in flour and vanilla. Pour batter into a well-greased & floured 9-inch cake pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes, or just until the cake springs back to the touch. Remove from oven, invert onto a cake pan, use a drinking straw to poke several holes in the cake. Drizzle warm frosting on top of warm cake. Serve warm.
For the Frosting:
In a medium pot, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring mixture to a boil and whisk in the evaporated milk. Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in pecans. Drizzle over cake.
