Cranberry Baked Brie Bundle

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cranberry orange crushed fruit*
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/2 (17 1/2 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (13.2 oz) round Brie
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon water

Preparation

Step 1

Directions:

1. Stir together crushed fruit, ginger, zest, and pecans

2. Set aside

3. Thaw puff pastry according to package directions

4. Roll out 12-1/2-inch sq. on a lightly floured surface

5. Slice Brie in 1/2 forming a top and bottom half

6. Place bottom 1/2 in the center of the puff pastry

7. Spread crushed fruit mixture evenly over 1/2 Brie

8. Place the top 1/2 over the fruit mixture

9. Pull pastry edges over the cheese - form a bundle

10.Twist gently

11.Place bundle on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet

12.Stir together egg yolk and 1 teaspoon water

13.Brush evenly over Brie pastry

14.Bake 400°F for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown

15.Let stand for about 20 minutes before serving

16.Serve with crostini, assorted crackers, assorted grapes, and red and green pears

*You may substitute 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce.
