Ingredients

  • FRUIT FILLING:
  • 6 cups pitted sweet cherries or 2 packages (12 oz each) frozen cherries, thawed
  • 4 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 TB sugar
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 TB quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 4 1/2 tsp frozen orange or apple juice concentrate, thawed

Preparation

Step 1

To make the fruit filling, combine the cherries with the cornstarch and the sugar, and toss to mix well.

Coat a 2 qt casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Pour the fruit filling into the dish and set aside.

To make the topping, combine the topping ingredients and mix until moist and crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit.

Bake at 375 F for 30 - 35 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the topping is gold brown. Serve warm.
