Ingredients
- 1/3 Cup Shortening
- 1 3/4 Cup flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon Salt
- 3/4 Cup Milk
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 450F. Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles fine crumbles. Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves sides of bowl and round up into a ball.
Turn dough into lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place of ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart for crusty sides, touching for soft. Bake until golden brown, 10 -12 minutes immediately remove from cookie sheet.
Yield: 1 dozen biscuits.
