Ingredients
- 8 ounces ry macaroni shells
- 12 ounces low-fat evaporated milk
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups reduced shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- White or black pepper (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Cook the pasta according topackage directions. Be careful not to overcook. Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water.
2. In a medium saucepan, whisk togethe the evaporated milk and the next 3 ingredients over medium heat. Whisk until the mixture thickens and bubbles form. Tur ff the heatand stir in the cheese until melted and creamy.
3. Add the pasta, stirring until well blended. Sprinkle with pepper, if desired.
