Swiss Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds round or chuck steak
  • ½ Cup flour
  • 2 Teaspoons salt
  • ½ Teaspoon pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 Cup canned tomatoes

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, salt and pepper and thoroughly pound into steak. Brown meat and onion in hot fat. Add tomatoes. Cover and cook over low heat or bake at 350°F until tender or about 1½ hours.
