Ingredients
- Melt over medium heat:
- 3 tbs. butter
- Add:
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Cook, stirring until softened, about 5 minutes and add:
- 2 large garlic cloves, finely minced
- Cook, stir just until starting to color, about 1 minute. Stir in:
- 1 28 oz. can plum tomatoes, lightly drained and chopped by hand
- 1/4 ¼ cup vodka
- 1/4 ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes
- Simmer 10 minutes, stir in:
- 1/2 ½ cup heavy cream
- Heat through. Stir in:
- 12 fresh basil leaves, optional
- Salt and pepper
