Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • approx. 6 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp. dry thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. dry sage

Preparation

Step 1

Scald milk/add butter, sugar, herbs and salt. Let cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to warm milk. Pour milk and yeast into big bowl. Add flour (2c) and stir until smooth. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn on floured board and knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl. Brush w/ melted butter and let rise till doubled. Punch down, knead and put in 2 greased pans. Let rise again. Bake at 400º for 30 minutes.
