Standard Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 450 grams icing sugar
  • 300 grams shortening or combination of butter and shortening
  • Salt
  • 50 grams water
  • 5 grams vanilla
  • Butter extract

Preparation

Step 1

Sift the icing into a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix on low speed until all the ingredients are well blended, about 1 minute. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes, or until the icing is light and fluffy.
