FRESH LEMONADE SYRUP BASE
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 Tbs. freshly grated lemon peel
- 1 1/2 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Dissolve the sugar in the boiling water. Add lemon peel and juice. Store in a covered container the refrigerator. [Makes 2 2/3 c. of the syrup base.]
By the glass: in a large glass, combine 1/4 - 1/3 c. syrup base with 3/4 c. cold water and ice cubes. Stir well.
By the pitcher: combine all 2 2/3 c. of the syrup base with 5 c. cold water and ice cubes. Stir well.
