Sea Salt Caramels

  • 1 3/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 Can Evaporated Milk
  • 3/4 c. Heavy Cream
  • 3/4 c. Light Corn Syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1/4 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Coarse Sea Salt

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium saucepan bring sugar, evaporated milk and heavy cream to a boil over medium heat. Add corn syrup and continue cooking to 230 deg. Remove from heat stir in salt and carefully pour into lightly oiled 9 x 13" pan. Parchment paper on bottom helps. Cool one hour. Invert onto cutting board covered with wax paper. Sprinkle sea salt on top. Cut into 1" pieces with oiled knife. Wrap in cellophane or wax paper.
