  • 3 pounds flank or thin-cut round steak
  • 1 large chopped white or yellow onion
  • 2 stalks thinly sliced celery
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup sherry vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped jalapenos
  • cooked rice



Step 1

Place all ingredients except the cilantro and jalapenos in the slow-cooker, and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove the meat and let stand to cool for about 10 minutes. Shred the meat and return it to the slow-cooker. Add the cilantro and jalapenos and cook another 10 minutes. Serve over cooked rice.
