Mojito

Ingredients

  • Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • Mojito
  • 1.5 oz. White Rum
  • 3/4 oz. Fresh lime juice
  • 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters, optional but it's classic
  • 2 sprigs of mint
  • Soda water, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Simple Syrup:
Combine water and sugar and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat, stir until dissolved and allow to cool to room temperature before using

Mojito:
1) Muddle one mint sprig with the simple syrup and lime juice in the bottom of a mixing glass/shaker
2) Add the rest of the ingredients and shake with ice
3) Strain over cracked ice into a glass, top with soda, if using and garnish with a sprig of mint
