Ingredients
- 3 C sliced onion (3 medium)
- 2 T butter
- 4 C beef consomme
- 1 t worcestershire sauce
- 2 thin slices french bread toasted
- Grated parmesan cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
Preparation
Step 1
In covered large saucepan, cook onions in butter over low heat about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add consomme and worchestershire sauce; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Place 1/2 slice toasted bread in each of four soup bowls; pour hot soup over bread and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. You can also add mozzarella cheese.
