  • 1 egg
  • 1 T water
  • ½ pkg. Frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, divided
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 170 g deli ham (about 11 slices)

Step 1



Preheat oven to 400. Beat egg and water until blended; set aside. Roll pastry block on lightly floured surface into 14 x 10 inch rectangle; cut half lengthwise. Brush both halves with some of the egg mixture. Sprinkle 3 T of the cheese and the pepper over one of the pastry pieces; cover with ham slices. Place remaining pastry piece, egg side down, over ham. Roll tightly to form a 14 inch long, starting at one of the long sides. Cut log crosswise into 24 pieces. Place, cut sides down on parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with remaining egg mixture, sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature. Can be made ahead and frozen. When ready to use, defrost and bake as directed.
