CRUNCHY CARAMEL APPLE PIE

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 28 vanilla caramels
  • 2 Tbs. water
  • 4 c. peeled, sliced apples
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Melt caramels with water in saucepan. Stir until smooth. Layer apples, then caramel sauce in pie shell. Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter with hands until crumbly. Add nuts. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375° for 45 - 50 minutes.
