Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced, peeled apples
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon (I add more)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place apples in ungreased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, water and lemon juice. In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients plus 1 teaspoon cinnamon; mix with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with cream, ice cream or whipped cream.
