Strawberry Shortcut Cake

Ingredients
- 1 package Strawberry Cake mix
- 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup powered sugar
- 1/4 cup Cognac
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 - 3 oz. package strawberry-flavored Jell-O

Preparation
Step 1
Prepare Cake mix according to directions on box.
Pour in 13"x9"x2" pan and bake according to directions on box.
Meanwhile prepare Jell-O as directed on box and refrigerate until thick, but not set.
Slice fresh strawberries, add Cognac and Sugar blend well, set aside.
Whip heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla to soft peak stage.
Pierce holes in cooled cake, spoon Jell-O over cake. Using slotted spoon, spoon strawberries over top of cake. Add whipped cream on top of strawberries.
Chill for at least 4 hours before serving, and chill any leftovers.
