Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce
  • 3.5 lbs Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cans of beef broth (14 oz ea)
  • 1/2 can or more sauerkraut (to taste)
  • 1 can diced or crushed tomatoes (14.5oz)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium high heat until redness is gone. Drain off fat In a large mixing bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, cabbage, sauerkraut, tomatoes, rice and salt. Add meat and mix all together. Pour mixture into a 9×13 baking dish. Pour broth over meat mixture and bake in the preheated oven, covered, for one hour. Stir, replace cover and bake for another 30 minutes.
