Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
  • 3 dill pickles, halved lengthwise
  • 1 slice cheese, cut in thin strips

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In large bowl, combine soup mix, beef, bread crumbs, egg and 1/4 c. barbecue sauce; mix well. Divide meat mix into 6 equal portions.
Flatten each to a 4" patty. Place a pickle half on each; fold meat over to enclose pickle. Shape each into a small loaf.
Place loaves in large shallow baking pan. Bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven; spoon fat from pan. Spread remaining 1/4 c. barbecue sauce over loaves; top with cheese strips. Bake 2 minutes more or until cheese melts.
