Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 12 large cabbage leaves
  • 1lb lean ground beef
  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp thyme
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 can (6oz) tomato paste
  • ¾ cup water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Wash cabbage leaves. Boil 4 cups of water. Turn heat off once water reaches boil. Soak leaves in the water for 5 mins. Remove, drain and cool.

2. Combine the beef, rice, salt, pepper, thyme, nutmeg and cinnamon. Place 2 tbsp of mixture on each leaf and roll firmly.

3. Stack rolls in the crock pot. Combine the tomato paste and water and pour over stuffed cabbage. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
