Fudge Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sour cream

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 F. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda. Blend flour mixture into butter mixture alternating with sour cream. Pour into a greased 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan; remove from pan and cool completely.
