    lb penne pasta

  • 2

    lbs ground beef

  • 2

    tbsp chili powder

  • Salt/pepper

  • 1

    onion, chopped

  • 1

    green bell pepper, chopped

  • 3

    cloves garlic, grated

  • 1

    cup beef stock

  • 28oz can crushed tomatoes

  • 2

    cups cheddar cheese, shredded


Cook pasta in boiling water, salted generously. Cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, crumbling as it cooks. Add chili powder, salt and pepper. Add onion and bell pepper. Cook until tender. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Add the stock and scrape up any pan drippings. Stir in the tomatoes and simmer sauce for 10 minutes. Drain the pasta and add to the meat sauce and combine. Transfer to casserole dish and top with the shredded cheese. Heat broiler and brown the dish in the oven for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
