Black Walnut Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb butter
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 sugar box plain flour
  • 1 cup black walnuts, finely chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour gradually. Add finely chopped nuts. Add vanilla. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.

Chocolate Frosting:
1 box powdered sugar
1/4 hot water
1 egg, beaten
6 tbsp butter, softened
4-5 squares unsweetened chocolate

Melt chocolate in double boiler. Remove from heat. Mix in sugar an water Beat in egg. Add butter, 1 tbsp at a time. Beat well after each addition. Spread over cake.
