  • 2-1/4 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups butter or 1 lb
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 5-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tsp cream of tartar diluted in 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • candied sugar sprinkles or sugar


Preparation time 25mins
Cooking time 26mins


Step 1

Preheat oven 400 degrees
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, eggs and cream of tartar mixture. Mix well.
Add soda, salt into flour. Mix well.
Add dry to wet gradually until well blended.
Roll out on floured surtace. (not too thin)
Sprinkle candied sugar or plain sugar BEFORE putting in oven.
Bake 8-10 minutes
