Cabbage with Raisins

The subtle sweet-and-sour flavor of Cabbage with Raisins will be a welcome addition to a holiday meal. It's especially colorful in a hollowed-out pumpkin.

Ingredients

  • 1 head (about 2 pounds) purple cabbage, quartered
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp firmly packed brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Fill a large saucepan with salted water and bring to a boil. Add cabbage; cover and cook until tender. Remove from heat and drain water. Using a large spoon, separate leaves of cabbage. Stir in remaining ingredients. Return saucepan to medium heat and cook 5 minutes.
