Saper Family Brisket

Aunt Sherry serves this brisket every year for passover. It is to die for and its gravy is good on everything!

Ingredients
- 5 lbs flat cut brisket of beef
- 1/2 onion - thinly sliced
- 2 packs of Lipton Onion Soup mix
- 2 jars Heinz chili sauce
- water
- garlic and seasoned salts to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Rinse brisket and trim off fat.
Place brisket, trimmed side down, into slow cooker.
Top with onions, soup mix, chili sauce, and salts.
Pour water in to the bottom of the brisket.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Remove brisket and slice against the grain. Put back into gravy and serve.
Alternate cooking method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lay brisket trimmed side down in a "tent" of heavy duty aluminum foil on a baking sheet.
Top with remaining ingredients and one cup of water.
Cook for 3+ hours (the longer the better).
