Red Onions, Pickled - Southern Living

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Stir together hot water, red wine vinegar, sugar, and salt until sugar is completely dissolved. Place sliced onion in a medium bowl. Pour vinegar mixture over onion; let stand 1 hour. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 month.
