Barbecued Spareribs

  • 1 Med. Onion, finely chopped.
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 2 TBS vinegar
  • 2 TBS dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 Cup ketchup
  • 3 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ TBS prepared mustard
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup chopped parsley



Step 1

2 racks spareribs (the smaller the better); salt and pepper to taste.

Cook onion in the butter until wilted. Add vinegar, brown sugar, lemon juice, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, water and parsley. Simmer one half hour.

Pre heat over to 450.

Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place rack in roasting pan and bake 30 minutes. Remove ribs, pat off fat. Return ribs with out rack to pan and brush with sauce. Reduce heat to 300. Bake 45 minutes. Turning ribs as they cook and brush frequently with sauce.
